Standing and Transfer

Our standing and transfer aids help children and young people with disabilities to get into a standing position, improve their posture and make movement easier.

Meeting them on equal terms – with our standing and transfer aids for children and young people.

With the till supine standing frame, Siphan can now stand regularly at school. This allows him to interact with his friends at eye level, participate more actively in lessons and discover his surroundings from a new perspective.

Standing therapy is particularly important for children and young people who spend much of their day sitting or lying down. Even short, regular periods of standing can strengthen bones, support digestion and breathing, and help prevent muscle shortening and joint contractures. An upright position can also promote attention, perception and social participation.

Our standers and supine standing frames can be individually adapted to the child’s physical needs and therapy goals. Support components stabilise the pelvis, trunk and head while promoting an even distribution of weight across both legs.

Depending on their needs, the child can be positioned in a prone or supine position. Our standing aids therefore provide safety, comfort and targeted support for effective standing therapy at home, at school and during therapy.

Standing promotes bone development, helps prevent hip dysplasia, improves digestion and bladder function, and has a positive effect on muscle tone and circulation. Standing trainers make these periods of standing safe and comfortable. Therapists generally recommend 30–60 minutes of standing time each day. A standing trainer makes this much easier to achieve in everyday life at home.

Flexible knee positioners (FKP) is an innovative in-house development for our standing trainers.

This new FKP design allows the anatomical function of the knee joint to be replicated more accurately, thereby ensuring better guidance. The two leg supports adapt to the shape of the knee, providing support both forwards and to the sides. The padded brackets provide additional support. You can choose between different mounting options on the product’s base frame. These include a fixed mounting or a continuously adjustable angle in any direction, thereby achieving even greater customisability.

Our standing trainers are designed to provide children and young people with the best possible support in their development, therapy and participation in everyday life. Our focus is not only on high functionality and individual customisation, but above all on the needs of users, their families and their therapists.

A key difference lies in our holistic approach to development. We consistently take the latest medical and therapeutic findings into account when developing our products. At the same time, we work closely with specialists from the fields of therapy, medicine and clinical practice to continuously refine our products.

Furthermore, we are actively involved in research ourselves, conducting studies and supporting scientific investigations to evaluate the effectiveness and benefits of our products on an evidence-based basis. In this way, scientific findings and practical experience are both directly incorporated into product development.

The result is standing trainers that combine therapeutic requirements with a high degree of suitability for everyday use. They offer a wide range of individual adjustment options, support various therapeutic goals and promote active participation in family, school and leisure life.

Usually once a year or when there is significant growth. Many Schuchmann standing trainers are adjustable in height and angle and can be adjusted as the child grows.
