Cooking together – with our ergonomic seating aids for children and young people.

After school, Leah enjoys helping with the cooking. Safely positioned in her madita-fun therapy chair, she can cut fruit and vegetables and actively take part in everyday family life.

An individually adapted seating aid helps children and young people with disabilities achieve a stable and physiologically appropriate sitting position. It supports the spine, pelvis and hips, can help prevent poor posture and promotes the healthy development of bones and muscles. Good positioning can also have a positive effect on breathing, digestion, concentration and stamina.

Our therapy chairs and positioning aids provide children with both security and freedom of movement. Adjustable seat angles, removable backrests and dynamic functions enable different positions and encourage active postural control. This leaves their hands free for playing, learning and exploring.

All our seating and lying aids can be individually adapted to meet the needs of the child, as well as the requirements of parents, therapists and education professionals. For children with severe contractures or high sensitivity to pressure, we also offer a mobile lying support system that provides relief, comfort and flexible changes of position.

A therapy chair may be beneficial as soon as a child is able to sit but does not have sufficient trunk stability. This can often be the case during infancy or early childhood. The right time depends on the child’s diagnosis and stage of development. It is best to speak to the child’s therapists and/or doctors. Providing supportive seating at an early stage can actively promote motor development.

A therapy chair can be individually adjusted and provides targeted support for the trunk, pelvis and head. It promotes a physiological sitting position for children and young people with disabilities and helps prevent poor posture that may develop when using a standard chair without appropriate support.
